about

The coiling and uncoiling of harmonic progressions through static time (connecting the present to those far-off days of 1984, when some of these shapes were originally conceived) provides the inspiration for these soundscapes. Like memories, these linked works are the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that combine to create a different picture every time you complete it. The past is endlessly reimagined through the lens of the present. A calm eye is essential.

The title of track three is a nod to Hooke's Law: "The extension or compression of a spiral spring is directly proportional to the force applied." Metal or memory, the principle applies.

By day I'm a writer and educator at Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia.
