Retro Beached Wales

from un_sound_tracks by theadelaidean

/

about

Taking as its source a 1982 track called "Wales" (so named because the tape loops sounded a bit whale-like), this piece adds three sustained chords from "Release of Anger" (played by Notion in 2019) and some extremely stretched percussive sounds (perhaps a screen door opening and closing) that reminded me of surf. Parts are reversed, hence the "retro" in the title.

My albums with Projekt Records and Aerozine 50 are very much in the drone/lofi vein, without the weird surprises you might find here.

By day I'm a writer and educator at Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia.
